The Dangers Of Witchcraft And Sorcery
Why does God so strictly speak against witchcraft, sorcery or other occult activities?
In the Bible we can read:
“I will set my face against the person who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute himself by following them, and I will cut him off from his people” (Leviticus 20:4)
“Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in withcraft, or cast spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and because of these detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you” (Deuteronomy 18:10-12)
First of all the origin comes from the first commandment. It says: „… Do not worship any other gods besides me. Do not make idols of any kind, whether in the shape of birds or animals or fish. You must not worship or bow down to them …“ (Esodus 20:3-4)
The source of any witchcraft, medium activity, spiritualism or other occult things is always to worship something else but not God. It’s about using methods and ways not provided by God. That’s something God can’t accept. Practicing witchcraft is the attempt to deal with things with the power coming from devilish sources. God is warning us to do so. Never God wants just to forbid everything to us. But God wants to protect us against the dangers of any occult activities. If you deal with witchcraft, if you trust on mediums, if you work as a channel, if you practice Lightwork or similar things you open yourself to occult powers. You open doors not knowing what is behind them.
Very often the bad consequences can’t be recognized at the beginning of your activities. In the most cases you maybe think to do something good. Maybe you think to have special powers or you watch „miracles“ peformed by someone. Even the bible is saying that the devil will create marks and miracles. But, that is all a con. Sometimes the devil does us a favour that we had been asking for, for instance to make an impression, or to win our confidence. Sometimes the devil brings psychic experience to us, for that we succumb his illusions and trust him and his servants blindly. But, give him your pinky and he’ll take your whole hand. His only goal is, to pull you into the abyss.

Often he may seem to tear quite softly. Anyway abyss is abyss though, no matter if you’re pulled down roughly or smoothly.
So dealing with witchcraft or other methods seem to be interesting and exiting for the first moment. But the only thing you are doing is to walk closer and closer in the direction of the devil. The trick is you don’t even realize it. The devil is not dumb. He often masquerades as an angel of light. That’s the big danger.
So if you are involved in witchcraft, sorcery, lightwork or so, stop it. You can always come to Jesus to ask for forgiveness. He loves you and wants to protect you. He knows the dangers waiting for you in this world. They are serious. It’s difficult to see through them. But Jesus can lead you. He is just waiting for you and your Yes to him.
